My mother pointed out this breaking news today about Angus Jones conversion to Adventism. Sadly I think she still holds to the thought that if a famous person converts to the church it validates the belief system. The news has already hit the Adventist media. I listened to his testimony but don't recall hearing much about Jesus and his Salvation. I did jot down a list of things he said they did teach him in Part 2 of The Forrunner777 video. 1. What the bible teaches about hell 2. The Sabbath 3. Evangelism Classes 4. Sanctuary message 5. My thought is that Angus has terrible guilt and cognitive dissonance, but I notice that he is not quitting his contract. If he really believes people shouldn't watch the show, the honest thing to do would be to quit. However, I understand his double-bind. He's signed a contract, he's very young, and on top of it, I'm certain the Adventists are telling him to finish his contract and be a witness. I have absolutely no doubt that the Adventists are LOVING this. The "rule" of public relations is, Bad press is better than No press. Adventism is getting good press, even if Angus is compromised and agonized and giving a double message. I'm praying God will use this for His glory somehow... Colleen | ||

The entertainment commentator on the Canadian news said that Angus was being manipulated by "the Forerunner guy" but there was no specific mention of the SDA church. | ||

I remember the Forerunner from five years ago and before. He has been around for maybe about 8-10 years. He is a young American man who has been on Myspace, Facebook, and Youtube putting up videos and essays on Adventist beliefs. He has tried hard to get people believing in the Great Controversy and conspiracy theories. Sort of like another Walter Veith character. I followed him a while back. I remember he was homeless, going from place to place to preach and living off people's kindness. I don't know what he is up to these days. I went to his Facebook page today after watching Good Morning America and hearing of him. He had the videos of Angus Jones up on his page. He is also Forerunner777. | ||

Sandy's devastation has been evil. That storm was only a category 1 storm when it hit the coast, yet it was so huge. I do wish Jesus would come back. Prayers for Punababe on the East Coast. | ||

Wow. I just read the CT article; it's another evidence of the phenomenon Todd Friel clarified: the Christian media is completely oblivious to the fact that Angus Jones is not saying anything about Christ, repenting, or coming to faith in Jesus. He's involved with a false religion, and the public Christian media is completely overlooking that fact. Oh WOW, I am just seeing this myself. I watched the interview and it's heartbreaking!! His young mind has absorbed so much SDA stuff and he's cowtowing to this forerunner guy. I've had a few run-ins with him via my youtube videos. Forerunner is a dyed in the wool Ellen Whitist --Colleen--as I write this I haven't listened to the readio interview yet but that is my local station and Jim Richards is on when I am at work so I missed it but I'm excited to hear about it. I listened to the audio and loved it Colleen. CFRB is simply the biggest AM radio station in Canada with over 700,000 listeners. There is no telling just how many people heard and had a seed planted. I am thrilled. Colleen might I suggest that the audio be turned into a video for the formeradventist youtube channel so it can reach even more people? There is a great amount of spiritual warfare going on in Toronto and I have to say hearing the gospel like this on a decidely non-Christian station is amazing! | ||
