Here's a letter I wrote to one of my SDA sisters:

Dear _____,

Remember how, whenever Israel wandered from God, He would send a calamity to wake them up and bring them back to Himself? Often it was a nation that was much more wicked then themselves.

God sent the Assyrians to attack Israel at one point, but instead of repenting, Israel reacted with defiance. They said:
“The bricks have fallen,
but we will build with dressed stones;
the sycamores have been cut down,
but we will put cedars in their place.”
Isaiah 9:10

And they went on in defiance so God had to send further judgement.

Now, you'd agree that the Muslim religion is horribly evil and their society is far worse than ours, but as you know, we suffered a Islamic terrorist attack on our country on 9/11.

In reaction to 9/11; the joint resolution from the Senate and the House of Representatives, the Senate Majority leader, Mr. Daschle gave a speech. In the last part of the speech, he quoted from Isaiah 9:10 making ancient Israel's vow the vow of the United States. He said:
quote:
"Nothing--nothing--can replace the losses that have been suffered. I know there is only the smallest measure of inspiration that can be taken from this devastation. But there is a passage in the Bible from Isaiah that I think speaks to all of us at times such as this:

'The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.'

That is what we will do. We will rebuild and we will recover. The people of America will stand strong together because the people of America have always stood together. And those of us privileged to serve this great Nation will stand with you."

There's a book called "The Harbinger" by Jonathan Cahn that goes into a lot more detail about this, but what do you think? Do you think this nation has reacted with repentance toward God since this happened, or do you think our nation has sunk further into depravity and rebellion against God?

Love, Dianne

By the way, here's the whole speech by Mr. Daschle...

It was an inside job. Explain Bldg. #7. Go to 9-1-1.org or turn on Jorge Norey or go to.YouTube or any # of websites to research this issue. Who is more powerful? The US or those degenerates out in the desert? Oh, it says in the rules of this forum politics is supposed to be a non-issue here.

I agree Punababe808, and I don't consider it political because an antichrist system is responsible for it. A bunch of devil worshiping elites, out of which the man of perdition will likely be revealed, are responsible for 9/11, I'm pretty sure, as crazy as I KNOW it sounds, it was some sort of macabre sacrifice to their demon gods.

However, I won't mention 9/11 if the moderators consider it political. (but the truth is they represent and control to some extent all political parties, as does satan the ruler of this world, all the nations have been delivered to him by people like this, this is how he could offer the nations to Jesus)

I'm very grateful that God sees all this, and I'm very grateful even when they try to hide and do things against their fellow man in the darkness, God still sees them, and I pity them that they will know His Wrath.

We should pray for the WICKED rulers of this world.

Frankly I pray for evil to be annihilated. God then can answer that prayer as He sees fit.

I believe the most powerful prayer we can pray is "Heavenly Father, Thy Will be done I ask in the name of Christ Jesus of Nazareth, Amen"

As far as evil, Paul wrote something it sounds like you will appreciate :-)
Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Now I don't believe our real motivation should be to heap burning coals on our enemies heads, but I do know that when we walk in agape love and submit these concerns to the Father in love, we wield amazing power and authority over our enemies.

In the book, "The Harbinger," the author says something to the effect that when God judges a nation, He starts at the place where it was consecrated to Him.

When George Washington was inaugurated, he and the group of people with him went to pray at a little stone chapel at the edge of what is now ground zero. New York was the capital at that time and the little church owned more property then than it does now. It owned the land that the twin towers were built on.

When the towers fell, a piece of one of the buildings fell on a sycamore tree near the church and destroyed it. A cedar tree was put in it's place.

In his inaugural address, George Washington warned: "The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which heaven itself has ordained."

In his farewell address, George Washington warned: "Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can exist apart from religious principle."

Despite what SDAs claim, this country was founded upon Godly principles and observing those principles is not an issue of separation of church and state. That letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists was to assure them that a religious test regarding denomination would not be applied to anyone running for office and that no religious denomination would not be promoted as the only one.

If I'm not mistaken, now SDAs applaud the "freedom" for gays to get "married" in their efforts to separate church and state! (But I'm not certain of that.)

Also, don't Adventist curse themselves by applying Isaiah 28:10 to themselves, where it says, "precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a little?" Because down just three verses it says:
"But the word of the Lord was to them,
“Precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
Line upon line, line upon line,
Here a little, there a little,”
That they might go and fall backward, and be broken
And snared and caught."
Isaiah 28:13

This is very interesting stuff. George Washington knelt in the snow and prayed at valley forge, he also claimed to have been visited by an angel just before some pivotal moment in history, but I cannot remember the details, I read it a long time ago.

Have you seen the wallbuilders documentary, by any chance? a native american chief claimed washington was protected by the great spirit and could not fall in battle, and he had shot at him several times dead on? Nothing I'd base spiritual understanding on, but still, very interesting stuff.

I've heard about all of that except for the angel part.

I just wanted to point out that from what George Washington said (and other founding fathers), that this country was indeed based on Godly principles. And not on whatever Adventists seem to think. It's part of the historical record, so, in effect Adventists are trying to get this country away from what it started out to be.

Asurprise,

I don't know if you saw that article I posted on another thread or not. It was an article in Adventist Today about how Adventists should support legalizing homosexual marriages. There reasoning was based on the fact that if they as a minority want to keep their Sabbath then they need to support other minorities even if they don't agree with them. Unbelievable!

Starlabs; come to think of it, I think I did read that post of yours. Eeewwwwww! Makes me think that if a group came out in favor of murder, they'd support that as well. But then actually they do. As long as the person hasn't taken his or her first breath of air first, anyway!

They believe that "spirit" in the Bible means "air." I've heard them preach it - going on about how the Greek word, "pneuma," which is "spirit" means air and using examples like pneumatic and pneumonia. Yet, Ellen White said that the Holy Spirit is a Person, just like Jesus and the Father.

Here's where that little beginning-Greek class I took comes in handy. The Greek does use the word Pneuma for "Spirit." For example, 1st Corinthians 2:11 which says:
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

If Adventists insist that "pneuma" simply means "breath" and that's how they're justifying abortion, then they must believe that God's breath is what knows the things of God.
They cannot have it both ways.

There are many people in Adventism that are well aware of God's command "Be ye holy as I AM Holy" and they would be described by the world as ultra conservative, as the SDA church (GC?) allows more of this I'd be expecting to see a lot more splinter groups appealing to the hole-up-for-the-Sunday-Law crowd
