Today's update: As some of you may know, I have been rebuilding our master bedroom. Since there are five steps to climb at the original entrances I put in a three foot wide exit door out the bedroom which will include a wheel chair exit ramp as so as the weather gets better to work outside. Anyway, the north half of the room is complete and today I moved the bed and night stands to this area so I can work on the rest of the room. Someday Jan is looking forward to when my shop tools are out of the bedroom. To complicate things we have never liked having the window on the south hot side of the room. So, the next project is to put in a new window on the afternoon east cool side of the house and remove the old window. Then, I will be putting in a new closet on the south side to help add insulation on the south side from the hot summer sun. Yes, even in the Puget Sound we get sun….sometimes. In the mean time Jan just called and said her infection is under control and will be able to come home tomorrow. And, the wound specialist will be doing a twice a week follow-up until it is properly healed. Praise God because the consequences of not curing this type of infection is almost too terrible to even think about. Thanks for your prayers. It really means a lot. Of course, having things like this happen is a great humbler and reminds me to uphold the many needs of my dear forum brothers and sisters here on the forum. Just called Jan at the hospital and found out something has gone wrong and she isn't coming home today. She said something about "a small attack". Don't for sure what that means. I need to get to the hospital and find out what is happening. Phil | ||

Well, I'm at the hospital now and the good news is that it wasn't a heart attack. Beyond that, they are not sure. So, I will stick around and hopefully she may still get to go home today. Phil | ||

I don't know when she's coming home. The nurses told me to go home and relax so this is what I did tonight: Since she wasn't here tonight I took it as a good moment to install the new window in our bedroom. Kind of interesting since I had to work from the inside outward by cutting the interior paneling and studs, put the window in an opening I cut in the siding from the inside followed by stud framing. Kind of like hanging the window in space and then building a wall around it. So, it's another night with just Hooch to keep me company. | ||
