G'day all.
I have been very busy with harvest here in the south west of Australia so haven't posted for awhile but follow the discussions mostly. We have finished 6,000 acres with 4,000 to go.
However. Re EGW
I am posting this on the public area in the hope that an sda might find it.
I was an sda for 35 years from my early 20s. After being initially very sceptical about egw's writings, especially "Testimonies for The Church", I became convinced of her inspiration after reading supposedly her books "The Story Of Redemption", "The Great Controversy", The Desire of The Ages" etc. it was the book D of A that introduced me to the matchless Jesus so I can only be grateful for that. As an avid prolific reader of both the Bible and egw I eventually started to see contradictions etc. it has probably taken me 20 years from the time I realized the 1st contradiction for me. Which was that egw (and the SDA church ) teaches that Satan fell before the creation of this world whereas the Bible (Ezekiel from memory) portrays Satan under the imagery of the King of Tyre as being greatly honoured in the Garden of Eden. Being a very very devout sda I turned to the only source of information that could hope to resolve such a conundrum. The sda Commentaries of course. I was not prepared for the shock that awaited me there; the commentary put egw above the plain statement of the Bible. It was a small starting point. But every journey starts thus.
I am currently reading Canright's book which has removed every last bit of defense I could find for her. Sure she received an horrific injury which surely commenced her on her journey but she had many, many opportunities to accept guidance from others but refused.
I am reading Canright's book online via my iPhone which is a bit tedious. Can anyone give me a telephone number or website where I can order this book.
Every honest Adventist should accept the challenge of reading this book if they are going to claim they alone have the truth.
Bless you all
The aussie.
