A Former posted this in a group on Facebook and I want to invite y'all to take the survey so she can get a larger sample. **** You are invited to participate in an online survey of former Adventists at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K5T52NM. The survey is designed to collect and analyze information about the circumstances, demographics, and beliefs of individuals who are no longer members of the Seventh-day Adventist church. The site also provides an opportunity to ask for a summary of the results. Please help us obtain as large a sample size as possible by reposting this invitation in places where other former Adventists might see it: your FB page or a web site, blog, or support group directed toward former Adventists. Questions or suggestions can be sent to FormerAdventistSurvey@gmail.com. |

I'm taking the survey right now and it's definitely SDA! You have to get a long ways into it to see that though! I'd quit taking it, but I'm hoping that my answers might help rescue someone else out of a false religion! |

Here are some of the answers I put down to various survey questions... Here's my response to their claim that Jesus waited until 1844 to go into the Most Holy Place... Hebrews 6:19-20 says that Jesus went ALREADY into the Most Holy Place in Heaven, right after His resurrection. He didn't wait until 1844. Hebrews 9:25 compares His sacrifice to the high priest going in EACH YEAR. That was the Day of Atonement when the high priest went into the Most Holy Place. Hebrews 1:3 and Hebrews 10:12 says that Jesus "sat down at the right hand of God." There's NO place holier than where God is! Ellen White said in Early Writings, in the chapter called "The Open and the Shut Door" that the door into the Most Holy Place was not opened until 1844, so Ellen White contradicts the Bible! And my response to their statement on "unclean" meats... First, in Genesis 9:3, God tells Noah: "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you." Then, Leviticus 20:24-26 explains that God had Israel not eat "unclean" meats because that represented "separation" from the "unclean" peoples - the Gentiles. Then finally in Acts 10, God gave Peter a vision that showed him that Gentiles were no longer "unclean." When people avoid "unclean" meat they are, in effect, saying that Gentiles are still unclean and that they don't accept that Jesus tore down the wall between Jewish people and Gentiles. And my answer to what they said about the Sabbath... The Sabbath day was given to Israel as a sign between God and them - Exodus 31:13. It was never given to Gentiles and it was a shadow of Jesus - Colossians 2:16-17. And one more concerning their statement about the "spirit of prophecy" and their idea that the "remnant" church has to have a "prophet." (I should have quoted Hebrews 1:1-2 where it tells about God speaking previously by prophets, but in these last days He speaks to us by His SON!) All the prophets in the Old Testament testified of Jesus. That's the spirit of prophecy, not Ellen White. |

I may have been wrong about SDAs putting that survey on. It posted various beliefs of the SDA church and asked the person surveyed to comment as to whether they agreed or disagreed. Anyway, when I saw those beliefs, I just jumped to that conclusion. What do others of you think? Seeing words like "The Sabbath is..." and "Jesus didn't go into the Most Holy Place until..." really made me bristle! |

It's is not SDA it is put together by a former SDA who is trying to get as unbiased a picture of why former Adventists left Adventism as possible. |

I started it this morning but had to go to work, shop, come back home and fix supper, so I just finished it. It took me well over two hours total. Wow, but it did ask all the right questions. I gave them my email address and hope to get the survey results back when it is complete. Phil |

I was able to get through the whole survey. It took me quite a while to do it, but I honestly felt that I got alot off my chest (in a matter of speech). It was also a cleansing process for me. I did kind'a vented a bit too. but it was good. Whether it was done by someone who is a SDA or someone who is thinking about leaving, it didn't matter to me. At least they get to see how we really feel about it. Alison |

I, too, took the survey. But, it took far, far longer to complete than the 7-8 minutes it said it would take. The questions that are asked are monumental. |

I, too took the survey and it took a very long time. I wrote long answers in hopes that someone might read it and see truth. Praying for all who read these. |

There are over 60 questions, so it took a l-o-n-g time. Were some of these trick questions? Some statements had a mix of truth and error IMHO. Be interested to see the results. |

I simply stopped explaining all of my answers. I could write for hours filling in those boxes. Sadly, I'm sure that my answers could be taken wrong. Many of the SDA fundamental belief that I don't agree with are because of what SDAs left out of the statement. Things that I know are left out because including them would impact other doctrines. |

Cloudwatcher, I just completed your survey. Very interesting questions, with lots of room for remarks. Thanks John |
