A couple folks here on the Forum suggested looking into a Calvary Church. Turns out there is one by that name in the area. Their website says: Calvary Chapel Heartland is a local church in fellowship with Calvary Chapel Outreach Fellowships from Costa Mesa, California. Anyone know about this Church in CA? Would this be the same Calvary Church? http://www.ccheartland.org/about-us-overview.da I sent them a brief email. Their website did not have a belief summary. Thanks, Jim |

~Jim02~ From what I have just read on the link you provided Calvary Chapel Heartland sounds like it uses the same structure of teaching GOD's Word as the rest of the Calvary Churches~world-wide~ I attend a Calvary Chapel in Orange, County, Ca. & have for many years~ I am continually blessed~ I pray that You will attend Sunday services beginning tomorrow! ~I am praying for you, Jim~ ~*~mj~*~ |

Good luck, Jim! I attended a Calvary Chapel in MI once, and the sermon was very legalistic and sounded SDA. I think there is some variability in quality w/in the Calvary Chapel "system". I hope you land on a good one! Dana |

Jim; just make sure you find a church that has the right Jesus, okay? Meaning one that believes He did it ALL - that He FINISHED the work for us. Jim; have you ever seen the docudrama called C.H. Spurgeon the People's Preacher? It starts out with how he was converted as a young man. Before he was converted, he was a sad, desperate young man; wanting to be right with God and having no clue as to how. One snowy Sunday he went to a small church with a simple preacher who looked straight at him and said something like (I think he was talking about Israel looking to the bronze serpent on the pole after they'd been snake-bit); "it don't take no effort to jest look! Look, young man, look! Look to the Savior and you'll live!" Immediately, Spurgeon got it and tears poured down his face. Right on the spot, he accepted Jesus and was saved! |

I am trying to muster up and go visit the church. Discouragement and confusion, half sick, wore out. Just look and live. I am looking and I am listening. I need eye salve, and unstopped ears. I need to recieve His strength. |

Jim, I now attend a Calvary Chapel. The pastor picks a book of the Bible and starting with chapter one, verse one he preaches through that book. I really like it. Diana L |

~Jim~ I agree with 'Asurprise'~ just go tomorrow & be blessed! If you are looking for a fellowship where GOD's Word is taught 'chapter-by-chapter'~ 'verse-by-verse' this is the place for you! I attend a Calvary Chapel & have for many years~ I continue to learn & grow spiritually~and have made lasting friendships~ Remember~ churches are made up of imperfect people! This being said, give the church several Sundays before you make up your mind, if this is the place for you! ~Praying for you~ ~*~mj~*~ |
