I was notified by a member of the local SDA church about a newsletter put out by Kenneth Cox Ministries talking about how their window for getting out the message is closing....they don't have much time left. This past June Europe is enacting a Sunday law. OOOOO hahaha The SDA's are all freaking out now!! Sundays coming you know hahaha You better start going back to the SDA church so that you're ready for the second coming! I'm sorry for being so sarcastic but this junk just irritates me! For those interested here is the link to that newsletter. http://www.kennethcoxministries.org/site/v1/content/view/92/52/ lynn |

I just checked out the European Sunday Alliance website, it's crap like that which feeds the fire of the SDA church, and I believe why they are so easily able to convice others of their Sabbath/Sunday claim. |

" The social scientist Dr Jill Ebrey, who undertakes research on the social value of synchronized free time at weekends for workers, helped finding explanations for these findings: “*Saturday* and Sunday are not merely the end of the week, but form the weekend – a special time for almost anybody. Its demise causes great distress.” Other aspects covered were the impact of volunteer work and economic pressures on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises. The members of the Alliance demand that both European and national legislation needs to be more protective of workers’ private lives, including the right to shared free time for family, social and civic engagement, and culture. They stress that societies need a collective rhythm, because people are embedded in social structures that are necessary for their well-being and for social cohesion: “Apart from our scientific findings, the political decision comes down to what sort of society we want to live in: a participative society, or a society where more and more people withdraw from interaction – with the negative impacts on democracy this would have,” concludes Professor Nachreiner." ~From the European Sunday Alliance website. Yes, this does sound dangerous!! Never mind the fact that they are promoting free time for both days. This has nothing to do with caring for the culture of their society and creating an environment of people who actually interact and engage with life. I saw persecution for Sabbatarians ALL over that page. Wow... such self-aggrandizing, paranoid, narcissistic, histrionic thinking! It's no wonder the church is chalked full of personality disorders! Hi, I’m Free2dance and I am a recovering PTSD with obsessive/compulsive tendencies – thanks be to Jesus Christ for healing my heart! |

Check this out, it's from an SDA news page: "These are worthy goals. And it's not difficult to see why the European Sunday Alliance settled on Sunday as the day of the week most suited to their plans. Even before the 4th century, when the newly Christianized Roman Empire declared Sunday a mandatory day of rest, the first day of the week (the Day of the Sun) was already a day with strong religious -- albeit pagan -- associations. There are deep traditional and historical reasons why Sunday, of all the days of the week, should be proposed as a weekly rest-day for Europeans. But dig a little deeper, and it becomes clear that declaring Sunday -- or indeed any other day -- as the "official" rest day of Europe generates significant complications." The Day of the Sun...wow. There is absolutely no acknowledgement or celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection on Sunday morning by Adventists. They can't ever say a positive thing about Sunday because it just might give merit to Sunday *not* being an evil pagan day. And WHY, btw, would Jesus raise up to life on an evil day? EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK belongs to Jesus Christ-- HE created the week!! EVEN IF Satan claimed a certain piece of God's creation, that wouldn't mean it is so. HE IS NOT THAT POWERFUL. He cannot just take something that is Gods! I love that God doesn't acknowledge this claim, it's ridiculous. It's like the parent who chooses to ignore the antics of a manipulative child. Don't give it the power of your attention and it will fizzle into the nonsense that it is. Every single day of the week belongs to God because HE created them and all that is in them. No one can take away from Him what belongs to Him. Why is Honoring God on Sunday considered the worship of a day, but honoring the Sabbath-*day* on Saturday isn't worship of a day? Does anyone else see how ridiculous this is? How did we miss this in Adventism? Seventh-day Adventists are the ones who make it about a *day* of the week and not about Jesus Christ and Him alone. Honoring the Sabbath was about what WE did for God, not about what God did for us. Church wasn’t about celebrating Jesus, it was about motivational speaking that thanked Jesus for showing us how to become better and more of what God wants. Ok, I am stepping off this thread, I am just getting way too irritated. Ha! Thank you Jesus for giving us eyes to see you! |

Now that the veil has been raised and I look back I just shake my head in disbelief that I ever believed such garbage. Thank-you God for showing me your truths over what the sda's teach. |

What I don't understand is if the Sunday laws mean that the end of time is coming soon and that means Jesus will soon return (all their beliefs) why doesn't this "event" bring about excitement and a "bring it on" kind of attitude? If it's true, it means they are going home, doesn't it?? Why aren't they joyful instead of fearful? |

~HELLO~ Lori~ One of the 'sda' troubles with this is they do not know if they are SAVED or not! Another reason, among many, is if they are alive during the seven years of the 'tribulation' they will have to handle all the 'Wrath of God' alone~this is just two reasons they believe in, there are many more~ "Sigh" =( ~I haven't seen you posting here before, maybe I just missed a post~? If you are new~WELCOME! ~*~mj~*~ |

That's right.....they really don't know that they are saved. Since they haven't received the completed work of Christ or His righteousness as their own, they have to depend on their own efforts at keeping the 10 commandments....and they KNOW that they fall short....they do not measure up to the standards the 10 commandments set forth. So they have NOTHING but fear when it comes to the last days....the time of trouble. It's really quite sad lynn |

Yesterday I caught part of a radio program on FLR , I think the program is called Wall Builders. They are doing a series on Sunday customs in teh USA at it's founding. Commenting on how the early Courts, Politicians, Presidents, customs and laws of the land that endorsed and founded thsi country upon the Bible and or Christian beliefs including observing Sunday for worship services and rest. They also made references to Sunday as "Sabbath". In what few minutes I caught , my impression was that their point is to say, this is a Christian nation from the start and we as a nation and Christians need to get back to enforcing Sunday in some manner having established the precedent of our constitutional history. ...and yes, their mixing of Sabbath terms, ignoring the separation of church and state are exactly the kind of thinking that can and does lead to group think and unjust laws. |

Hello! I'm not new to FAF. I found the forum back in 1999 when I had already studied myself out of the Adventist church. I was a frequent poster at that time....I come back to visit every now and then!! FAF is a great place!!!! One of the things I had battled with for years (before I knew what was wrong with Adventist doctrines) was why people of other denominations (including my husband) had more confidence in God than I did. How does that happen that a "remnant" (one who has more truth, more light) has less confidence, less assurance.....less faith? It means something is not as it should be. It means your house is built on sand which would be ok if your foundation was supported by a solid rock but your foundation is no good. The foundation was not built properly and it will not hold. It means your faith is on something other than Christ which means you are trusting in your self for salvation. They aren't joyful because their minds are filled with fear. They are filled with fear because their faith is based on Sabbath keeping. The foundation of their salvation is a day of the week and they cling to it in desperation. Their allegiance to the Sabbath blinds them to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. They have assembled this morning in their church wearing the mask of happiness. The same one I used to wear each week pretending that is was enough...even though I knew something was severely wrong. They are pushing aside the same thoughts I used to put aside....thinking that if they just guard the edges of the Sabbath a little better and stop eating meat that those thoughts will go away. The think those thoughts are there because they aren't being a good enough Adventist and they just need to be better. They will read the Bible but they are always encountering a Scripture that doesn't make sense. So...they will do what I did....they will grab a book that will make it easier to understand...they will let the words of Ellen White clarify the words of God for them. And then they will wonder, as I did, why Ellen could understand the Bible so well but I can't see the same things she did in Scripture....and I'm trying so hard!! Then they will conclude it's because they aren't surrendering themselves enough, they aren't purifying themselves enough. And then they will pray, and cry, telling God..."I'll do better, I promise I'll do better!!" They think, as I did, they just aren't being a good Adventist and that's why they don't have what they should have. They just need to work harder at being an Adventist. Which means.....your faith is on something other than Christ and you are trusting in yourself for salvation. |

Europe leading the pack in establishing Sunday laws? And here I thought good ol USA was to be the forerunner in the global Sunday law progression. The false prophet strikes out again. |

Lori; I wondered that too. Occasionally I'd encounter a Christian who'd have such peace and joy. I just figured that was because they hadn't discovered the "truth" of the Sabbath yet! Really! I kind of envied them their freedom, not knowing that I was the one in the dark and that they had the real truth! I figured it was my job to enlighten such Christians and would often give them some Ellen White books such as "Steps to Christ" and "The Great Controversy," so they'd know the "truth!" Despite all that, I never had any cognitive dissonance or anything. I still believed the SDA "truth!" It took some miracles by God for the REAL truth to sink in. |

Asurprise: I'm laughing out loud!!! You said: "Occasionally I'd encounter a Christian who'd have such peace and joy. I just figured that was because they hadn't discovered the "truth" of the Sabbath yet!" (I know what you meant...but it also says the Sabbath truth is a real peace and joy killer!!! LOL!!!) We were always told in church that those who were believers would go to heaven without keeping the Sabbath if they never had any knowledge of the "Sabbath truth". So...., I vowed, right then and there, that I would NOT be sharing the Sabbath with anyone who didn't know. If they were going to heaven in their ignorance then I was certainly not going to be the person who could potentially cause them to go to hell. Someone else could be the person that could cause that disaster...it was not going to be me!! |

these sda are in deception, they don't know their right hand from their left, as God pointed out in Jonah about the city of Ninevah. We are to pray for those that live in darkness and deception, and even fast if necessary, someone must have been praying for each one of us that came out of this cult. I am grateful to God that his mercy extents to the whole world. Let us pray for all those not just sda's that are walking in darkness. now that God has brought me out for His glory and work, i can stand afar and see how these former brothers and sisters that i loved so dearly need God's great mercy, let us all remember them in our prayers. love to each one of you. |
