That's interesting. Longevity is enjoyed by many SDAs. Okinawans and Hunzas too. The writings of EGW does give a lot of good health advice (even though they were largely copied from others), yet there are some nutty things in there too. I do think that vegetarians do generally have better health, but that's only if they keep up good health habits in other areas. I know many SDA vegetarians in bad health for not exercising enough and having other bad health habits. |

The writings of EGW do not give any advice we can follow. When so much of her material is contradictory with itself, with science, and with Scripture, none of her material is trustworthy. The Bible tells us that God gave mankind everything that moves to eat after the flood (Gen 9:1-3). Mark 7:19 records that Jesus declared all foods clean. The Bible does not teach that God forbade shellfish and pork from the Jews for health reasons. It was entirely for keeping them separated from the Gentiles and their worship practices. 1 Timothy 4:1-6 is directed to God's people in the new covenant; all food are to be received with thanksgiving and enjoyed by people who know the truth.
