On reading the Adventist World magazine about Muslims and SDAs...the only real connection is that both don't like alcohollism and pork consumption, etc. That's it. Muslims worship Allah, go to Mosque on Friday, have Ramadan, don't do much the same at all! One gem is that in the article, they said that Muslims don't wear jewelry. They mentioned a SDA woman who decided not to wear her bold jewelry anymore because she wanted to better witness to muslims. That was so laughable. | ||

Adventists do say that Allah is the same God they worship--it's just a different name. But the one true God is a Trinity. Monotheists who don't believe in a Trinity are not worshiping the same God Christians worship. It is very possible, however, that Allah and the God of Adventism really are the same...Adventists' don't believe in the orthodox, classic Trinity. The similarities are kinda creepy! Both have a 'prophet' Both will NEVER publically question their prophet's Quran/Testimonies Both started with a denial of the divinity of Jesus. The liberal, moderate and fanatical in both camps pick and choose which writings they accept and ignore anything that contradicts while claiming it's all inspired. All of them claim that their position is the one that truly represents their religion. Both slavishly defend their religion against 'outsider' criticism regardless of what it's saying or doing. Dissimilar? A 'good' Muslim will kill all infidels A 'good' Adventist will be killed by infidels Present truth anyone? "Among the verses in the Quran containing orders or laws there are verses that abrogate verses previously revealed and acted upon. These abrogating verse are called _nasikh_ and those whose validity they terminate are called _mansukh_. The common notion of abrogation, that is, canceling of one law or code by another, is based on the idea that a new law is needed because of a mistake or shortcoming in the previous one. It is clearly inappropriate to ascribe a mistake in law-making to God, Who is perfect, and whose creation admit of no flaws. However, in the Quran, the abrogating verses mark the end of the validity of the abrogated verses because their heed and effect was of a temporary or limited nature. In time the new law appears and announces the end of the validity of the earlier law. Considering that Quran was revealed over a period of twenty-three years in ever-changing circumstances, it is not difficult to imagine the necessity of such laws. It is in this light that we should regard the wisdom of abrogation within the Quran: "And when we put a revelation in place of (another) revelation and Allah knows best what He reveals -- they say: you are just inventing it. Most of them do not know.
