This showed up on my FB page tonight by an SDA. They of course thought it was hysterical. Notice the SDA trading cards the young boys pretend to be using when hiding their video games from their mom. If only I had the guts to post this on my page with the scripture that says, "When the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou0LmIHMYHg enjoy... |

One of the comments made after a person was asked what their Adventist Alert App was: "It's this app called 'i really don't care what people think of me'. Me and Jesus are homies, we just agree to see other people." There is this strange rebellion from the confines of Adventism that brings some of its members into a place of complete disrespect for Jesus and somehow a continued loyalty to their culture/ religion. I choose to believe that since it is a false Jesus they are "trusting in", that it is also their false Jesus they are disrespecting. It's just too much. It's heartbreaking... |

There are a whole bunch of those in the Web. They are made by Florida Hospital SDA Church. They make several every year for their annual retreat. You can You tube the church page and find some funny ones. Hec |

Whether it is the true Jesus or a false substitute doesn't really matter in terms of the heartbreaking statement above, " we just agree to see other people". The God of the Bible is described as a jealous God. A person in love with Jesus doesn't want to see other "people" (isn't that really other gods?). Either you love Him above all else or you don't really love Him. |

Alright that's on all my Blogs and my Facebook now. Both the Biblerunner and UndercoverAdventist feature Galatians 3:19-27...I don't know how much clearer it needs to be. |

You are right Ric_b- it doesn't matter it is just plain sad. I think it is a mind trick I play to try and get over how sad it makes me. I can't imagine that if this guy knew the real Jesus he would dream of saying such a thing. Its just so sad. I know a lot of people find it funny, I would have too as an SDA because I would have related with it. Maybe Im just too new out, I just can't laugh about it. It is making light of a sad truth. It is not funny to me at because I see my family so over focused on hiding that they don't make the time to know their God. Maybe I need to lighten up. You know what? I think I know what bugs me so much! As an SDA my reputation was an idol to me. This is simply making light of the idol worship that stole my peace and kept me from truth. |

"It's this app called 'i really don't care what people think of me'. Me and Jesus are homies, we just agree to see other people." Well, anyone who attempts to be in a dual relationship with Jesus and also with the Law is a spiritual adulterer. Often I hear Adventist apologists say something like, "We keep the law out of our love for Christ". This is similar to saying, "I keep a mistress on the side out of love for my wife." |

Now if someone would only invent an app that sounds an alarm when Sabbath wading escalates to swimming... |

There really is an app for the Sabbath School lesson. My mom found it on her Droid. What would be nice is getting an app for the FORMER SDA commentary on the lesson and using the same search words so that it lands right beneath the SDA app. Wonder how many people that might reach and how many SS classes it may come up in! |

My question, Bb!! This really does remind me of the internal videos and cards, etc., that the Mormons make for their "own". This kind of humor is only acceptable to "insiders"...but it's so telling. Thanks, Nikki! Colleen |

If you visit my Biblerunner blog I got a reply from and Adventist. And I have responded to Him in Christ. Check it out...I think I explained things pretty well. |

Bb, the mom has the advance app that also tell you how conservative the nearby adventist is. No worries, it'll warn her when to remove the jewelry. I can so identify with the video in my adventist upbringing. I remember one weekend some really conservative adventist friends were coming over. So, we had to hide all the pop we had in the house, and I had to promise not mention we ever drank pop. I did tell my father in no uncertain terms that i did NOT appreciate being forced to be a hypocrite. Oh, and this wan't even coke or anything else with caffiene, it was orange Crush. It's really sad. I've had members of my prents home church take me out for ice cream on Sabbath, but ask me not to tell my parents. Another time, a member had a housewarming party, but i was the only one invited b/c she was serving wine. I also knew she would go dancing with her husband. |

Adapting an old verse: Catholic's don't recognize the protestants..... Protestants don't recognize the Pope..... Adventists don't recognize eachother in the liquor store or the meat department...... |

Good one, Jd. Although I thought the adventist robber was a little far fetched. Robbing isn't nearly as frowned upon as coffee and jewelry and Sabbath breaking. Because if you are a robber, you are still salvagable. If you leave the Sabbath, you are apostate! Angel, I lived that lie for years!! Hiding everything normal so that I could appear like a good little adventist girl. Maybe that's why I feel so free now! I see how ridiculous it is to live in fear of the judgement of other adventists. Yes, Colleen, very "inside" joking. I guess when you are a cult it bonds you to poke fun at yourselves, all the while smugly aware that you are the ones with the magic gold card to get into heaven. |
