The sermon at out church this morning was on judging in Mat 7:1-6. One of the side points our pastor made dealt with the judgment of unbelievers and he mentioned some eschatology I previously wasn't familiar with. I already understand how believers are judged for reward (bema seat) and unbelievers for condemnation (great white throne), but this was about believers actually having a role in doing the judging of unbelievers and angels. The scriptures cited were: 1 Cor 6:2-3 Rev 20:4 Mat 19:28 Luk 22:29-30 This was entirely new to me, so I thought I would bring it up here for discussion. Michael |

That's what SDAs believe they will be doing in heaven during the millennium. Hec |

Michael, I think most pre-millennialists would say that those texts (except for the one about judging angels, perhaps) are talking about administering (daily) judgment during Christ's millennial reign in His kingdom on earth, before the Great White Throne Judgment at the end of the millennium. Revelation 20:11-15 seems to indicate that God is the one doing the judging and it does not mention the saints. Jeremy (Message edited by Jeremy on March 13, 2011) |

That is how I have understood those text, too, Jeremy. It's quite a new paradigm, but it's quite exciting once the concept sinks in...the idea that all those OT prophecies are not just "done away with" is really amazing. Wow...God does keep His promises! Colleen |
