There's an online eZine for children designed to teach them about SDA distinctives and about EGW. Check out this link, and watch the video about "The Lost Hairnet". I've read this story in a children's book written by one of Ellen's granddaughters, but this video just upsets me. I'm more and more offended by the manipulative power of EGWs insisting God gave her visions about the small personal sins of children (and adults)... Check it out: http://visionary4kids.org/?p=331 Colleen |

Colleen, The only thing that upsets me more than this video is the fact that I knew the girl who plays "Lisa". I once had a place in her life where I could have planted seeds. If only I had known then what I do know... (Message edited by free2dance on March 07, 2011) |

Oh, what adventists will do to teach them about the false prophet. It is beyond disgusting! The only time my Mom ever told me God was watching me was when I was naughty. Diana L |

Vision my sweet patootie ! EGW was just snooping. She was determined to find out who took her precious hairnet and would have searched all those girls rooms to satisfy her own curiosity.. the "vision" was IMO an EXCUSE to not tell the girls she had been searching through their things ! Francie |

Of course they added a touch of 'multiculturalism' to the video. I think it's a way of trying to make it 21st century America... |

I remember that story from childhood. I use to come out once in a while in the "Our Little Children" Sabbath school lessons. I remember that it impressed my mother very more than me. My mother would always repeat it to us. Hec |

This is bizarre. Questions: #1. Where is James? #2. Where are her kids? #3. Why is she wearing a very large collar that is pure adornment? #4. Were those photos in her bedroom? #5. Why is the acting so bad? #6. Why wasn't the Holy Spirit convicting this little girl rather than Ellen? #7. Why did they have the actress kneel by EGW's feet...(a subtle statement of worship IMO). #8. Is this even true? #9. Is it Biblical that angels snitch on little kids? Just asking...thought they watched over kids to protect them... Maybe some of these observations aren't accurate, but I can't watch it again to check. I think she was called Sister White in it, so she was married. She looks too young to be widowed. Diana, you hit the nail on the head...I grew up just "knowing" that the only time God was watching was to catch me in something bad. I'm really glad I wasn't taught this story as a child. Nikki--How jarring to see someone you know in this awful film. But,God CAN redeem the past! Pray for her! |
