I was trying to get caught-up on my podcasts as my family and I were returning from San Antonio to Plano, TX. I was listening to Wretched Radio episode and the opening segment on the 1st Hour of was a caller who mentioned his friend was an SDA and believed in annihilationism (the one word way of saying you don't unrepentant sinners are NOT condemned an eternal hell). Todd did a good job at mentioning the Church's foundation is built on a Prophet whose prophecies failed, and that Jewish Sabbath Observance is still a requirement on Christians, etc. He also tried to point listeners to the Proclamation website by saying look up "Proclaim, SDA". There you will find many people who left the SDA church and they have some great information about SDAs. However if you google those words it returns links to the Three Angels message and the adventist.org page. NOT GOOD! Anyway I was going to email Todd and ask him to broadcast a correction to the announcement. If any of you email him as well please let him know ;) I left a voicemail at (1-877-282-2337) but perhaps Colleen someone here can also give them a call as a more official communication. I still thought it was great that he knew of the page and the resource. Yes the broadcast is the November 19th Broadcast Hour #1. When you log into the Member Area The broadcast is under the Podcast Section. Look for the podcast --WR2010-1119-Hr1 The Caller's question is literally at the start you can slide to the time mark 0:30 - 0:34 Todd dosen't get to answering it until the 3:00 mark and goes on until the 4:50 mark. I heard this today when I was getting caught up on some podcasts, as well. It seems to be fairly often now that Adventism is mentioned by a caller on Wretched and he even had a witnessing encounter with one on a college campus a while back. I loves me my Wretched Radio! | ||

Yes, I heard the witnessing encounter with the college student as well. Todd's understanding of the problems with Adventism appear to be growing lately. I jokingly said to Karetha after we listened to the 11/19 podcast that Todd probably gets a bunch of SDA defenders writing him about the "truth" every time he talks about the SDA church... which only makes SDAs look more cult-like. I wish Todd wouldn't lead out with the Michael archangel point. That one is a doctrinal detail that a lot of SDAs don't really know enough about to know what he is talking about (it isn't preached much around this part of the country anyway). There are far better topics to start with... -why- SDAs think sabbath-keeping is required (seal/mark), the remnant, investigative judgment/1844, etc. In addition the the recent witnessing encounter, there was also another show a couple months ago where the second hour ended with a caller who was in the process of being drawn in through a prophecy seminar (he was talking about the sabbath and Constantine and all). Time was running out and Todd had to put him on hold for further discussion after the show ended. Oh how I wish I could have heard the rest of that conversation! Michael |
